Honda EVs Will Have Access To Largest EV Charging Networks in North America
December 17 2023,
Honda has taken a significant step towards providing a seamless charging experience for its EV customers in North America. The company has agreements with two major public charging networks, EVgo and Electrify America, with other roaming network partners. These agreements will ensure that Honda and Acura EV owners have access to the largest charging networks in the region.
Charging Network
Honda has been committed to expanding the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in the United States. Honda established a joint venture to create a leading high-powered charging network in collaboration with six other automakers. As a result, Honda and Acura EV owners will be able to utilize most American DC fast chargers when 2024 arrives. By 2030, an estimated 100,000 DC charge points will be available to Honda EV customers.
New Agreements
The recent agreements with EVgo and Electrify America are significant milestones for Honda as they provide Honda and Acura EV owners with single-app access to thousands of fast chargers across the United States. Through the HondaLink and Acura EV smartphone apps, customers can quickly locate available stations, pay for charging, redeem credits, and even enroll in subscription plans.
Honda's Commitment
Honda is committed to reducing its environmental impact. It’s reflected in their ambitious goal of achieving carbon neutrality and zero environmental impact by 2050. Honda has implemented a "Triple Action to Zero" approach, which includes carbon neutrality, 100% utilization of renewable energy, and resource circulation through sustainable materials. They also aim to make battery-electric and fuel-cell electric vehicles account for 100% of their auto sales in the U.S. and globally by 2040.
